Why has Language World been important to you? |
Isabelle Jones, Head of Languages It is the event that helps me to remember that we are an important part of the curriculum. It provides an amazing morale boost at a time when language teachers do not necessarily feel as valued as they should be. |
Claire Dodd, Head of Italian and Minority Languages I look forward to it every year. It brings everything together for me – everything happening in languages and I find that it revives me! I always come away with lots of new ideas and resources and I am much better informed because of it. |

Jen Sutton, Head of Teaching & Learning Area - Languages As a languages teacher it is the highlight of my working year! |

How do you think Language World has contributed to your career? |

Lisa Stevens, PLL coordinator, Apple Distinguished Educator, Language Coach, Primary Languages consultant. It has made me think every year and given me new ideas to try out or explore further. And it has afforded me the opportunity to share what I’ve learned with others. |

Lydia Morey, Peripatetic teacher of Japanese and Chinese It's always been my most efficient way of keeping up with the latest policy issues, QCA issues, qualifications development etc. I don't think there is anywhere else where so many experts are all on hand in one location over a couple of days. |

What was your favourite moment at Language World? |
Rachel Hawkes, Assistant Principal I have been twice now to Language World and both times I have cherished the encounters with other teachers that I admire and respect and with whom I love to share ideas for the classroom. |
Steven Fawkes, Independent Consultant I remember a LW Dinner at Manchester when I was President and hosting Prof. Eric Hawkins at my table. The ALL staff had asked me if I would do one of my action songs after the meal and before the disco. I can still see in my mind's eye Prof. Hawkins and the other distinguished guests doing the routine to the music of the Spice Girls! |
