The Linguacuisine project explores digital literacy, languages, cuisines and cultures. It does this through co-design of downloadable apps and social recipes, using an authoring tool to develop an online community of practice. The free app helps you learn a language while you are cooking a meal. Your smartphone or tablet will talk you through the stages of cooking a recipe, with text and video to help. Best of all, when you’ve finished, you can eat the food you’ve cooked and learn something about the culture of the country! So Linguacuisine is a really fun way to learn about foreign languages, cultures and cuisines, and you get to eat what you produce.
