Schulen: Partner der Zukunft

The Goethe-Institut is delighted to announce the opening of a new partner school in Woodbridge, Suffolk.  The partnership between The Goethe-Institut and Farlingaye High School was officially launched on 25 January 2018 at the school.

The German Embassy and the Goethe-Institut were both present to launch the partnership. The launch day included speeches, a reception and a performance by the German rapper Chefket! Students had the opportunity to take part in workshops run by Chefket as well as watching the star perform.

The new partner school in Woodbridge adds to the Goethe’s existing partner school network in the UK, taking their number of partner schools to five. Farlingaye High School is located in an area in which, until now, students of German had little opportunity to strengthen their bond with Germany and the German culture. It is now believed there will be a positive future for the teaching and learning of German though this partnership.

For further information on the launch at Farlingaye High School, please contact Kathrin Marshall-Lauber at the Goethe-Institut, London.

The initiative ‘Schools: Partners for the Future’ (PASCH) – a worldwide network of more than 1,800 schools are schools with a particular connection to Germany. The Goethe-Institut fosters around 500 PASCH schools in the national education systems of over 100 countries. All these schools have a special focus on German and German culture. Central themes include ‘Widening horizons through multilingualism’ and ‘a common approach to future problems as an international learning community’.
