4.30 – 5.00pm – Tracy Mulholland – Creative classrooms: Crafting confidence in primary languages
This CPD session shows how simple, purposeful crafts and creativity in the classroom can boost confidence, engagement, and vocabulary retention in primary MFL. Using research-informed, curriculum-aligned approaches, teachers will explore practical, low-prep ideas to support speaking and listening, while fostering creativity, and communication.
Tracy Mulholland is a secondary languages teacher with over 25 years’ experience teaching French, German and Spanish. She also supports primary teachers to deliver engaging MFL lessons. Founder of Crafty Little Linguists, she creates Irish Government-approved CPD courses and resources combining crafts and languages, building confidence, communication, and enjoyment for young learners.
5.00 – 5.30pm – Jérôme Nogues – “Talk to me!” – Using AI avatars to boost listening in the primary languages classroom
This practical, playful session shows how free AI tools like Animate from Audio and Vidnoz can turn listening tasks into exciting, pupil-led experiences. Learn to create engaging talking avatars in minutes, then use them for guessing games, repetition with emotion, and interactive comprehension. No tech expertise needed—just bring your voice and creativity. Leave with ready-to-use resources and the skills to make listening the most loved skill in your language classroom.
Jérôme is a passionate educator, speaker, and edtech consultant with 20+ years’ experience teaching and leading across subjects. He champions the creative use of AI to enhance learning. He has co-authored language learning books and runs film-based language workshops at the British Film Institute.
