Rusistika

The Association for Language Learning (ALL) is currently seeking a new reviews editor for its online Russian journal, Rusistika.

The task is unpaid, like most of the roles in ALL, but it does bring you some free books and helps maintain a network of contacts with other Russian teachers. Outlays such as postage are reimbursed.

The main jobs are to:

  • note new publications about teaching Russian, about the Russian language, and about contemporary Russia;
  • request review copies from publishers (and in general to cultivate relations with publishers);
  • send out books or materials for review (we can supply you with a list of potential reviewers) and to chase up the reviews;
  • compile the reviews section for each issue of the journal and to submit it by an agreed deadline and in accordance with ALL style conventions;
  • proof-read the reviews section before publication.

Work on the next issue of Rusistika is just beginning. At present it is scheduled to appear in September 2013, allowing the new reviews editor plenty of time to familiarise him or herself with the role and to compile the reviews section.

If you have any questions about the work involved, please send an email to [email protected]. Please note that all reviews editors are required to be paid-up individual members of ALL or to become members before taking up the editorship.
