ALL Social Zoom for ECTs and trainees
Thursday 30 April 2026 from 18h30 on Zoom
As we start the third term of this important year, we turn our mind to Planning, with a particular focus on responding to your learners. This can be referred to as adaptive teaching (and previously had other names which encompassed words such as ‘differentiation’). It implies that a single lesson (or longer term) plan should take account of who the learners are, and how they respond. We may be trying to teach all of them the same essential things, but they may not always enjoy the same ‘diet’.
Sophie Vauzour will explore some of the issues
And we hope some of you, the delegates and developing teachers, might contribute thoughts about effective practice you have seen or tried out yourselves.
Liz Lord will raise issues about Culture, often referred to in research reports as a positive and motivating element.
And, if time allows, Tanya Riordan will talk about how to plan for incorporating phonics, vocabulary and grammar in a communicative way.
As ever, if you would like to contribute a short input on strategies you have observed or evaluated, please fill in the section in the booking form.
