Francophonie en direct

July 6 @ 08:00 - 17:00

Francophonie en direct – the ALL webinar for those who teach French (in any phase)

Monday 6 July 2026 from 18h30 on Zoom

Keeping Languages Fun – Tom Brain

Language Fiesta Theatre In Education  focuses on using drama to make language-learning as fun and immersive as possible. Their French show Voulez-Vous is performed totally in French, so the audience is fully immersed in the language right from the start. We believe that combining drama and languages in this way is the most effective way to boost enthusiasm for languages amongst children.

Confidence to perform – Danielle Dion-Jones

Danielle has worked as Foreign Languages/EAL lead in a large state primary school in London for the last 17 years and is now supporting GCSE and A Level students in a local secondary school.

She follows the principles of Drama in Education, aiming to make learning active, meaningful and engaging. Her approach to teaching French through Drama aims to challenge all learners, building fluency and accuracy progressively.

As an MFL consultant, she is developing cross-phase collaboration and curriculum continuity between the primary and secondary phases, providing CPD, mentoring and coaching.

In this session, she will look at how paintings can generate imaginative talk and how this process can lead to more confidence in performing in a wide variety of contexts.

Anne-Lise Galley will update us on projects at the IFRU
