ALL’s Council has twelve members who are elected for a three year term. The Council’s role is:
• to discuss and Inform the Association’s policies and strategies
• to contribute to the future development of the Association
• to consider proposals for new activities and make recommendations to the Board.
The Council meets once a year, on a Saturday in September. Being a member of Council is a fantastic way to make a contribution to your Association and also a great addition to your CV. We need a wide range of experience amongst our Council Members, so whether you are an NQT or a Head of Department, you are equally welcome.
The ALL President is elected for a three year term, the first year as President Elect and then two years as President. The President represents ALL at various events and meetings and also hosts Language World. There is an election this year for our new President Elect who will work with the current President from September 2019 before taking over as President in September 2020.
We are now accepting nominations so please email ALL President Jane Harvey if you would like to discuss further or know someone who would be interested in standing either for Council (there are two vacancies) or as President Elect. Further information and forms are available below.
