Welcome to the French resources page – providing new ideas and materials for primary teachers.
These resources have been chosen by members of the DfE Expert Panel and members of the ALL Primary Special Interest group as ones that have been used in their own schools. They include a variety of commercial as well as non-commercial resources, publications, free websites and online materials for developing cultural awareness.

SCILT has put together a voyage of discovery through the French speaking world. Start the learning journey by enjoying stories and videos about the French speaking countries of France, Egypt, Gabon, Madagascar and Polynesia.
French cultural institute in the UK, with information about French films, popular music, arts and education initiatives. Based in London, the Institut also has a library and médiathèque with a range of French books, comics and films and offers French experience days with language and cultural activities.
This is a partnership project between the Institut Francais, the Network for Languages and the Association for Language Learning, which could help you to get started on teaching a language throughout Key Stage 2. With free teaching materials and access to a training programme, the teaching materials also include lesson plans and PowerPoint Presentations for the interactive whiteboard.
