Session information:
Managing GCSE: reflections, learning and looking ahead.
Let’s pool our ideas.
Join us for a structured, one‑hour Zoom discussion session around a set of questions prepared by ALL Council Member Catherine Ames and ALL Fellow David Blow who are keen to promote the sharing of ideas.
Designed specifically for middle leaders responsible for curriculum, assessment and promotion of GCSE level Languages. This unrecorded session creates a safe, open space for honest discussion and creative problem‑solving.
We’ll explore a wide range of ideas, including:
Reflections on the June 2026 exams
Learning from the June 26 exams (Teaching & Learning, Internal Assessment)
Year 9 options – planning
We will have a number of suggestions to start the ball rolling. Then please be ready to share, borrow, adapt and collaborate. This is a practical, energising hour designed to help you manage the subject, energised by other keen ALL members.
We aim to produce a document for sharing as the outcome of this session and may include names of colleagues who make suggestions or observations if they give us permission to do so.
Further information:
ALL Council has set up this additional opportunity for Subject Leaders who are ALL members to meet in a regular online, professional forum, to enable colleagues to raise professional issues or topics which they wish to discuss from a management perspective. This session will not be recorded, so as to enable free discussion in a professional manner.
One possible outcome would be to collaborate in order to produce practical guidance or documentation (in the form of facts, figures, arguments, papers, posters, reference links) available to other members in response to common issues. These documents would be stored in an accessible Google Drive read-only folder.
